Dr. Theerapong Poonyakariyagorn, MD, has specific requirements for patients seeking Male to Female (MTF) surgery to ensure they are fully prepared for the procedure, both physically and mentally. These requirements are as follows:

Psychiatrist Certificate:

  • One certificate from your home country.
  • One certificate from Thailand.

These certificates are essential to confirm the patient’s psychological readiness for gender-affirming surgery.

HIV Test:

  • A negative HIV test result is required.

This test is necessary to ensure the patient’s overall health and to minimize potential risks during surgery.

Hormone Treatment:

  • At least one year of hormone treatment is necessary.

Hormone therapy helps the body adjust and prepare for the physical changes associated with the surgery, enhancing the surgical outcomes.

Hair Laser Removal:

  • A minimum of five sessions of laser hair removal.

Laser hair removal is recommended to reduce hair growth in the genital area, which is important for surgical precision and long-term results.

These requirements are in place to promote better surgical outcomes and ensure a smoother recovery process, helping patients achieve the best possible results from their MTF surgery.
